Promoting Red Angus through membership opportunities

ND Red Select Sale

The ND Red Select Sale is held annually on the 2nd Saturday of December at Kist Livestock, Mandan ND.  NDRAA members may nominate heifers or embryos.  Current Fiscal Year (November 1 (current sale year to October 31 of next year) Membership is required to be paid prior to check-in.  Mandatory attendance at the annual meeting and banquet is required of all ND Red Select Sale consigners. 

The ND Red Angus Association hosts its annual fundraiser, the Donation Heifer Raffle, prior to the start of the live lots.  Raffle tickets are auctioned off to participants in the stands and via DV Auction. The donation heifer is donated by a NDRAA member annually.

The ND Junior Red Angus Association hosts its biggest fundraiser, the Donation Semen/Embryo Sale after the ND Red Select Sale.  Semen/Embryo lots are auctioned off to participants in the stands and via DV Auction.  The NDJRAA clerks and hosts the Donation Semen/Embryo Sale entirely.  Proceeds of this sale fund NDJRAA activities and scholarships.

Annual Meeting

The NDRAA Annual Meeting is held starting at 1:00 pm CST on the 2nd Friday of December (the day prior to the ND Red Select Sale) at the Bismarck Hotel (Sale Headquarters), Bismarck ND.  The NDRAA addresses the business of the association at the meeting.  Mandatory attendance for ND Red Select sale consigners.

Annual Banquet

The ND Red Angus Association hosts an Annual Awards Banquet starting with a social at 5:00 pm CST on the 2nd Friday of December (the day prior to the ND Red Select Sale) at the Bismarck Hotel (Sale Headquarters).  ND Junior Red Angus Association members and ND Red Angus Association members are recognized at the Annual Awards Banquet.  Award recipients are nominated by members of the NDJRAA and NDRAA.  An NDRAA Directory Ad Auction is held biannually.

Directory

Every 2 years the ND Red Angus Association auctions off select pages at the Annual Banquet.  Breeders may also purchase advertising separately from the auction.  Funds from the NDRAA directory help fund the operations of the ND Red Angus Association.

County Buckle Program

The County Buckle Program is administered through the ND Junior Red Angus Association.  The buckles are sponsored by donors who participate in the Diamond and Ruby levels in the Sponsor Campaign.

Photography Contest

The ND Red Angus Association annually hosts a photography contest.  There are no categories… the only stipulation is that there has to be at least one Red Angus animal in the photo.
